Communication (Seesaw)
Staying Connected at Aldinga Beach Primary School
SeeSaw – Our Main Communication Hub
At Aldinga Beach Primary School, we love keeping our families connected to what’s happening in their child’s learning. Our main way of doing this is through the SeeSaw app. When you join our school, you’ll receive a unique code to connect with your child’s class. Through SeeSaw you’ll see:
-
- Learning Updates – regular posts from teachers celebrating your child’s progress, achievements, and learning goals. This is our way of ongoing reporting so you are always up to date with how your child is going academically.
- Event Reminders – notices about class and whole-school events.
- Termly Overviews – sent in the first week of each term, sharing what students will be learning in each subject area, along with class routines.
- Private Messages – a quick way to communicate directly and confidentially with your child’s teacher.
- Announcements – important updates from your teacher, school admin, or leadership team.
- School Newsletter – full of important dates, celebrations, and class spotlights from across the school.
Email Communication
We also welcome communication via email. Teachers check their emails daily; however, their priority is teaching the students, so immediate replies aren’t always possible. If something is urgent, the quickest way to get help is to call the school office.
Student-Led Interviews in Term 1
In Term 1, we invite families in for Student-Led Interviews – a special opportunity for students to share their learning journey, celebrate their achievements, and talk about their goals, supported by their teacher.
Doorway Conversations & Meetings
We value those friendly chats at the door, but to ensure teachers can focus on student supervision and learning time, we ask that doorway conversations be kept short. If you’d like to discuss something in more detail, we’re always happy to arrange a meeting at a time that works for both you and the teacher.
When to Expect Replies from Staff
Our staff work hard to balance their time between teaching, preparation, and supporting families. They are encouraged to respond to messages during work hours (8:30 am – 4:30 pm), and a 24–48 hour reply timeframe is considered reasonable. This aligns with the Department for Education guidelines and ensures our staff can maintain a healthy work–life balance.
During class time, teachers are focused on their students, so messages sent during the day may not be read straight away. For anything urgent, please call the school office so we can help promptly.
