Camps and Excursions

At Aldinga Beach Primary School, camps and excursions are a valued part of our learning program. They provide opportunities for students to engage in rich academic, social, and personal learning experiences beyond the classroom, helping them to grow in confidence, independence, and resilience.

Camps

We operate on a two-year camp rotation, with odd years being a camp year for our Year 3–6 students.

    • Year 5–6 Camp – Held early in the year to help strengthen positive peer relationships, develop leadership qualities, and build teamwork skills in an outdoor environment.
    • Year 3–4 Camp – Scheduled later in the year and designed to encourage collaborative outdoor activities, positive risk-taking, and resilience as learners.

Past camp locations have included Illawonga, Whyalla, Mylor, and the Adelaide Hills, offering diverse and memorable experiences for our students.

Excursions

Excursions extend classroom learning into real-world settings, deepening students’ understanding of topics through hands-on experiences. Past destinations have included the Adelaide Zoo, Parliament House, the Migration and Maritime Museums, the Living Kaurna Cultural Centre, Kuitpo Forest, the Farm Barn, the local library, Marion Aquatic Centre, and Port Noarlunga Beach.

Incursions

Incursions bring experts, performers, and educators into our school to present interactive learning experiences that connect directly to our curriculum. These may include performances, cultural presentations, or hands-on workshops.

Parent Information

    • Families will be informed well in advance of any camp, excursion, or incursion.
    • Parental permission is required for all off-site activities.
    • From time to time, staff may request parent/caregiver volunteers to assist with supervision during camps and excursions. Please register as a volunteer with our front office staff.
